  • real world camera to phys cam

is there a script that can take real world camera data(f-stop, shutter speed, etc) from a file and import it into the VRay Physical Camera..??

I'm thinking kinda like a IES light import

I can break this script down to what it's doing so you can reverse it yourself if you like in a little bit.

How will you match the sun, to the real sun ? You will probably have to set everything manually to get it right anyway.

I can't see how this would even work or what the point would be?

The vray phys cam doesn't always match up to real world settings as a lot of the time the real world can be radically different from the vray phys cam in the real world due to clouds, haze etc...
I think even the sunny 16 rule is a bit funny with the vray camera and not totally accurate.

As far as going the opposite way, proexr as a photoshop plugin saves out vray camera information as metadata to jpgeg, psd or whatever else.

Ah, it's just that I'm interested in how this actually could be useful?

There's only what 5 or 6 parameters that you really need to enter in from a camera's EXIF data and even then it probably needs tweaking to match up to a vray camera due to virutal light vs the real world.

Unless I'm getting the wrong idea about this
