  • RGB 255 White and Other. The LWF issue. Set 255 always down to what?

    Hi all

So what maximum RGB are we using? 235? or even lower to maybe 220?
I this true only for white? Or would you also set something red (255,10,10) down to something like red (230,10,10)?

The opposite also for black. Do you go as low as 0,0,0?
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

I'm going 240 about for really white stuff, and i'm never going 0,0,0, for back, always going really dark grey..

We're going as low as 200 for white and for black I usually use 5,5,5...

what about non white and non black colours like blue, green, yellow, purple etc. Do you always bring the maximum down from 255?
        Kind Regards,

Yes, always. Also, if we're using a bitmap of a paint colour for example we will reduce the RGB output to 0.8 too so as to avoid that 'glowing' effect you can get.

            Hi,
Could you please explain briefly the problems related of using values near to 255?¿. With RGB output yo mean the value on "RGB Level"?

            Best regards,

No - just the colour swatch values themselves for the diffuse of a material. It's rare that you'd get a totally pure surface in real life - most will also have some sort of shine / specular / reflection which will wash out the colour of the object too and make the colour slightly less saturated.
