  • MatID Element

I am using two MultiMatteElements. One with activated MatID, one without.
If i have only the MatID MME then the matte is completly black. I had this problem severel times. I cant switch to g-buffer MME everytime.

I define the MAtID in the Poly or Mesh by selecting the specific faces an then enter the matid. Thats it. Did somebody have also this problem that the matid functions doesn't work every time ?

AFAIK, MME MatID uses only the Material ID Channel from the Material Editor, not the Material ID from Edit Poly or Mesh. I don't think there's a way to use the poly MatID in a render element.
    www.dpict3d.com - "That's a very nice rendering, Dave. I think you've improved a great deal." - HAL9000... At least I have one fan.

      wohoo thx thats it!

But know i have a realy strange thing going on. My object has correctly assigned matIDs and a multisubobject. But ID2 and ID1 have the same color in the MME. That is strange!

I don't think the multimatte element takes sub objects ids into account, only the id of the first material in the stack for the whole object.
