DR Keeps cutting off

Hi Guys
got a problem with DR.
i got 2 dual pc's both the same.all set up with max and vray, all brand new.
my master pc runs the spawner fine, but the slave machine will run the spawner but then keep cutting off and then back, so on my masters vray network manager it says the slave is on then disconected on then disconected....... so it wont even send the scene.
now if i do it the other way round ,,,,,, use the slave as the master and use DR .....spawner still cuts out and it wont render ..... but the other machine will...... im sitting here scrachting my head looking for an answer
p.s im not running the spawner as a service but a program.
i have tried it as a service, but its still the same ....... HELP.

Win 2000 ... service pack 4
i woudlnt have thought that would make a difference ??

does it matter were the temp spawner file is ?....
need to get this baby working quick smart.

Make sure you don't have it running as a service when starting up as spawner.

another option would be my old "trick" :

install the service on the slave, but turn it OFF (stop service : see service management)
then run the spawner...

I've found that spawners work best on W2K systems where as the service runs best on XP systems.(it could be that this problem already has been solved doh)

its like it tries to start it ....it starts then just goes of ...... 30 secs later comes back on the goes off straight away.

It sounds like you dont have acces to the maps from the slave. you have brobably cheked it though

well all the maps are on a main server which both machines are connected to.
just a thought
does it matter were the IRR map is saved ..... i thought if it was on the main server the render slave can find it ????
