  • Loose Stereo effect with DOF with VRayCam?

    Hi all

I want to use DOF for a stereo render. Is this a good idea or would you advice against it as you may loose the stereo effect?
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

Why would it make any difference?

Generally, DOF in stereoscopic 3D is a bad idea. Although it's a great effect for directing the audiences attention in 2D, in a 3D film your audiences eyes will wander and subconsciously be drawn to the blurred out area of the image. The brain will subconsciously be trying to focus the eyes in on something the brain 'thinks' is behind the screen when in fact it is only the illusion of 3D on a flat screen. This will cause eye strain, nausea and even headaches - Something you don't want your audience to experience!
