  • Single Sided Glass switch like in mental rays arch&design material?

    Hi there,

I searched the forum to get an answer to that question but didn't find a solution yet. So I have a car model that has single sided windows. Is there any posibility in vray to get the same effect like in the arch&design material when checking the "thin-walled" option? I would model the thickness of the windows but the geometry is imported from a cad-model and when I try to model the thickness (e.g. with a shell modifier) the normals get screwed and look ugly. Any ideas?

Set the refraction IOR to 1.0 on your glass mat.

Hmm, did you try that? Do it and look at your material preview. That does not seem to work. Apart from that it screws up the reflection also since these are also dependent fo the IOR... so this is not what I am looking for... sry

Curiously, does it also get rid of the ''distortion'' effect? So I can see perfectly through it ?

Thanx Vlado ! Will try it out soon. Also is there a way to get it with 2 side model too ?

And from other hand, any way to get diffuse with grey 128¬ color or is it has to be black ?
