  • Handling bitmap paths for vrscenes?

    Hi Folks,

    I'm giving a mate a hand with a few things with me on vray for max and him on vray for maya so we're looking at using vrscene files for rendering. The main issue is one of paths for the bitmaps - windows is using "\" instead of "/" and also there's slightly different names for the servers. The guys on the maya side are going to handle the rendering so is there anything dumb and immediate like putting all the files into the same folder that'd work?

    You can use the VRAY_ASSETS_PATH environment variable to tell V-Ray for Maya and V-Ray Standalone where to look for textures.

      Ah - so just set that with maxscript and it'll be held then? Much appreciated.

        You need to set it when rendering, not when exporting, so I'm not sure if setting it from MaxScript will be useful.
