  • Render to texture always rendering square

This seems to be vray related. If i do a scanline baking, it seems that the main buffer shows in square, but it's saved at whatever i choose. When vray renders, it's always square.

Can't do much about that, I'm afraid. The saving is done by 3ds Max; it is also 3ds Max that determines what resolution to bake in. A work-around would be to use the V-Ray VFB with an override resolution option and its own split channels option for saving.

Should it be possible to render a height and normal map with vray like this? When i try to render this through render to texture, max always seems to crash. Scanline is taking forever to bake these textures, while vray is much faster. I tried to turn on these elements in the render dialog rather than render to texture dialog, but it came out black.
