  • Vray 2.0 Speed V's 1.50 SP5

UPDATE - I think the speed increase was actually from the demo re-setting some of the settings upon render to a lower quality such as the GI from High-Med.

    Hi

I was just looking at upgrading and did a quick simple speed test and found that my basic scene rendered a lot faster with Vray 2.0

    Max 2011 Vray 2.0 Demo - 00:02:00
    Max 2011 Vray 1.5 SP5 Full - 00:03:32

    This is roughly 40% faster

I rendered the same frames on the same computer 10 times and these times were consistant. Only basic materials were used not any of the new features so the scene was identical in 1.5 & 2 and GI but proves to me worth upgrading for speed alone. And maybe the full version will be a bit quicker?

I hope that helps people, anyone got any thoughts on this?

Alas, the demo is just as fast as the full version (wouldn't be much of a demo otherwise ) Are the final renders the same?

        Best regards,

So maybe its not quicker Vlado?

Just waiting for my full version so I guess I will fully test it then.

Actually, it is, but it depends very much on what features you use (e.g. proxies, displacement etc).

            Best regards,
