  • displacement map

    Hi all,

I am a new vray user and i have finished modelling a character head of a dog. I was wondering if anyone could post a good example of a map which i could put in the texmap slot within the vray displacement mod to give me a fur effect? I have tried a few maps that i have but none seem to give me the effect i am looking for.

If this is possible it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Ali

this was done with a simple bump map. i never had much luck with multi-subobject displacement maps

Displacement always stands perpendicular to the surface and goes straight on, which is not the case with fur. Fur comes out of the flesh under different angles and is curly or at least curved a bit. So I don't think displacement is usefull for creating fur.
