  • Matte objects for composing

    Hi everyone,
So I have this small but complex scene because I'm using Multiscatter. Just a monolith concrete structure on a MS grass, pebbles, etc. So I render the ground with MS, all fine.

But now when I try to render the monolith structure (it has a complex material with glossy reflections, etc.) it fills the memory up and it wants to render for more than 8 hours. If I render just the monolith it's ok (all MS objects off), but when I turn the MS objects on, make them matte and alpha -1 so they overlay the monolith it seams as if vray tries to reflect the objects in monolith structure. I even turned off the reflections, visible to GI (even though it's precalculated) etc. and still it takes WAY too long to just render this simple structure.

I need these MS objects for the overlay, they need to subtract the monolith in areas they are in front of it, nothing more. What am I doing wrong?

    thanks in advance

sorry guys, but did I overcomplicate my question? You can see my post in image uploads to see what I'm talking about. I ended up rendering the monolith with everything hidden and just putting it behind everything else in PS. But this is important in case one has several layers with different objects.
