Not sure if it's appropriate to post just about MAX but this could be useful...
I did a format recently and tried to turn off Aero in Vista (not sure how are things in Win 7) and when I wanted to use rectangular selection tool it actually delayed the drawing of that rectangle (line - space - line) by half a second every time. It was silly but very annoying. Not sure if anything else was slower but when I turned the Aero back on everything was back to normal. I can't say my fps change, they seam about the same, but I'm pretty sure Aero is the reason. I just did a test, without restarting even, when I switch the Aero off and put Vista Classic that thing happens, the selection rectangle is jittery (or what's the word?) and when I turn it on it's back to normal.
Do most of you (on Vista) use Aero or not?
