  • Difffusion slot in Vray material??

I'm one of those guys waiting for the Maya version of Vray so until then I have to stick with max when it comes to render.

The thing I need to know is this:

In maya the Diffuse is not the same as Color. The have Color and Diffuse. There is not slot for this map in either max standard or in Vray. I noticec they have it in the Brazil material. There it's called Diffusion and is right under the diffuse slot.

Is there any slot like that in the Vray material that I'm just missing or do I need to go in the Wishlist section?

its waaaay low on things to do list. or maybe its just on the wishlist but not on the things to do list. Alot of people claim it has no use in production. However. they are usually the archetects. suposing your a product visualiser and your trying to show a vlass bottle used for perfume or something. Then diffusion would definately be an additive in getting that much closer to realism. and in product visualisation realism is an important thing

The ONB shader in the standard mat has it. Not sure if this shader works so hot with VRay though. There were problems and I just haven't used it with VRay since.

Would be interesting to know about if you do any tests.
