    from my understanding both the downloadable demos seem to be of the basic version of vray.....however I'd like to download the advanced version to test it agaist something like brazil?

    is a demo of the advanced vray available?

      yeah, i downloaded the 30 day demo from that link but that seems to be the demo of the basic version and not the advanced version....I say this because among the files that the downloadable demo installed the following files were missing:

      [MAXROOT]\plugins\VRayNet40.dlu
      [MAXROOT]\VRSpawnServer.exe
      [MAXROOT]\vraydummy.max

      and your install help file says:
      "Note:The Basic package installation does not include VRSpawnServer.exe, vraydummy.max and VRayNet40.dlu"
      so I presume that the demo file is the demo of the basic version.

      Now, is there anyway that we can test a DEMO of the ADVANCED VERSION of vray??

      hope this make sense.

      Paul.

          Hi,

          The demo you have downloaded is the Advanced version.
          There are some limitations in the demo though:
          * When you save, the renderer settings are reset (it's a good idea to turn off autoback when evaluating the demo)
          * All renderings are watermarked
          * There is no distributed rendering, which explains your missing files: they are the DR components of VRay.
