  • VRaydummy2001 + Win7 64 + Max 2011 - start and stop - start and stop

    Hi,

today we upgrade a node to Win7 64. The main WS is with XP64bit.

In the node, when we launch manually the DR Spawner, we see that the vraydummy2011 start and stop and we can't render in DR mode. But the VRay-RT works fine

also, we cannot render with BB. The node console write

Task error: An unexpected exception has occurred in the network renderer and it is terminating

with the main WS we can see the directory in the node with Win7 (but not the c:, I don't know why) and the node is mapped correctly, so can see the WS.

    Any help?

After all day fight with the new OS, I think the problem was the Marvell 911xx config ATA Device.
I install ONLY Win7, Max, VRay. All was OK,

after install the Gigabyte UD5 driver, restart the PC, I've the same error.
So I format again (4 time in a day) and install one stuff at time.

Now, I have only only Yellow Question mark with Marvell 911xx config ATA Device,
but VRay and BB work. I think that if I install this, VRaySpawner not work again...

Some problem with SATA3. Tomorrow I will try to swith the cable to sata2 ( or not
The OS is on and F120 SSD

EDIT: nope, the problem stay alive

    Any suggestion, please?
VRayspawner start and stop for "n" time and the node not work in DR

hi, what is your bios setting for the sata konfiguration. for win7 with ssd you should use ahci mode. that caused trouble with my machine. ...

If using Windows 7, try right clicking on the Vray Spawner app, and choosing "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR". I had the same issue with the Vray dummy opening and closing, opening and closing. This helped fix the problem. When I net render with Backburner, I also right click on my Autodesk server app and also "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR". Windows 7 is very picky about user rights.

          VERY VERY picky....
I also had to enable guest account permissions as well so that the slaves could write to the win 7 machine [if it is the server]

I also added permissions for "everyone" for my hard drives on my Win 7 machines (within my private rendering network), just to make sure that wasn't adding to my troubles. Because, boy, I had soooo much trouble setting things up, so I tried every trick in the book to get things running smoothly.
