is it only the vrayplugins that fail ? Make sure that the order of plugin paths is correct in plugin.ini (/vrayplugins beeing after /plugins)

There are several plugin.ini files; one is in the root folder of 3ds Max; another is in the local user folder - make sure that both are ok.

        Best regards,
        Vlado

what am I looking for exactly.

          This is the plugin.ini

          V-Ray additional plug-ins=C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2011\plugins\vrayplugins

          from the root folder.

Why would it have changed from the time i turn off my computer last night to this morning when I turned it on?

Found this on Evermotion site .
              thank god and it worked.
The solution is to re order the plugin files in 3dsmax plugins folder. Switching the files that live in the vrayplugins folder with the two vray files that live out side the vrayplugins folder.

Which means that the order in the plugin ini is wrong hence the exchanging of the files fixes it. The better solution would have been to fix the plugin.ini for various reasons.

One thing that can break the plugin.ini is installation of any plugin (or vray)
