  • Using DR creates empty EXR files... HELP!

I've searched all over but can't find the answer to why this is happening - When I render out a scene in Vray 1.5 and save to EXR it saves fine if rendered on just one machine. However, if I use DR to render out the scene and open the EXR in Photoshop, all my layers are empty.

Any ideas why this is happening and is there a solution? I'm tearing my hair out with this one.

Are you saving to an .exr file from the 3ds Max output settings, or from the V-Ray frame buffer?

    Best regards,
    Vlado

Hi Vlado. I set it up by checking the 'Render to V-ray raw image file', then change the extension to .exr before rendering. DR seems to work fine if I render as a .vrimg then convert it but I want to cut out that step if I can.

Ok; are you saving to the local disk, or to a network drive?

I was saving to a network drive that all machines have access to.
