    Image size cap???

When I try to go larger then 8k I get either (error creating bitmap) or..it just crashes when I try to distribute the render.

Wondering If anyone has broken the 10K barer and can share how they did it ..

Yep....had the same issue here. Highest I got was 8500 pixels.
Must be a limit or it may be dependent on the amount of RAM.

Either way, only way to exceed it is to do region renders and stitch together in PS.

            vlado??

do you have a explanation for the image cap size ...
            it doesn't make sense ...
if I distribute a render and don't store it int e virtual frame buffer ..I can render 10 K using FR and the scalene render...

            thanks ....

I can't post the script because it's propierty of discreet, i think. If i'm wrong and it's a public script, i'll post it. Anybody knows if it's public?

from our experience the "error creating bitmap" seems to be a memory leek or something in max, because restarting max and rendering straight away seems to work most times....failing that we use blowup/region etc and just move the marquee (without changing its size) and do 2 or 3 renders

I've got a similar take as DP. It's most definately a RAM issue. If you render the image once and it works. Then render again and you get the error, definately restart Max. I've managed to render a 10K image in one hit once. It was a miracle. I've got 2GB of Ram, so you shouldn't have any trouble achieving the same with 2.5 GB.
