  • Panoramic Viewport

I was wondering if there is a way to set up a 3dsmax viewport to be panoramic, I am using an spherical camera in vray to create my own hdri maps, but the problem is the viewport only shows a clip of the whole panorama, if I could see the entire thing would be more useful...

i think that would require a raytraced viewport of some kind....

Use VrayRT, easiest way to work with spherical cam....

So by using VrayRT the viewport will show me the complete 360?

Yep, if you switch one of your viewports to Activeshade then you can use Vray RT with a standard camera and then use the Vray Camera Settings in the Render Scene Dialog, overide the field of view and get the full 360 deg view. I've used this method before, I mainly use it for just positioning proxy objects as it's almost as quick as a viewport. It's a little bit of a hack, but it does the job.
