Video filter

Question for people who have done the output of animations to VHS tape. Is there any particular reason you would want to use Video filter over another? Description says that it is "optimized" for NTSC and PAL, but the image is way too blurred on PC monitor. However, if it will make the picture look better and move smoother on VHS, then that is the best option.

Any major disadvantages in using a filter like Area for VHS in your experience?
