  • HDRI environment

I am using an HDRI map for the environment-skylight. i like the intensity of light that it is giving my scene, but its giving off too much color - making my white materials pick up a red tone that the HDRI is giving off.

my question is: how can i adjust the HDRI map that i am using to desaturate it - take some of the color out of it?

The easiest thing would be to open it in HDRshop and desaturate it there http://www.debevec.org/HDRShop/

    Image > Effect > Sepia tone > 128,128,128 grey > OK

Save the image with a different name. In max you should then be able to mix the two maps to get any saturation you want from the map.
