  • Transparent sahdows control

    Hi,

I want to control the degree of transparency of the shadows a material would cast.

with a VRayMtl Refract set to White, and tweaking IOR I am unable to achieve what I want, If in propertu¡es I set material not to cast shadows, result is close to what I am after but not yet what I need, I want small amount of shadows casted, If I set to cast shadows, shadows are way too dark.

Work around is render twice and compose later, but would be nice to be able to do it with the material.

What I wnat to represent is clear water in a small (not deep) angle of vision pretty perpendicular in one of the views, when the angle of view is more tangent, then reflections take care of transparency (if you understand what I mean)...

    thanks much

    hope it makes sense.

    Well,

Seems Fresnell reflections were not working well for this particular point of view, (there were no reflections at all) so unchecking Fresnell and manually adjusting the amount of reflection seems to work for this view, since it is a still image, no prob.
