  • How do I get sunlight?

    Hi boys.
I want to achieve a sun illumination in an outdoor scene I'm working on.
At this time I'm using a free direct, light yellow colored, with 1.0 multiply like the sun, and GI option in VRAY free version (1.0 multiply too, light blue) and Indirect Illumination, first bounce 1.0 and secondary b. 0,5.

There only one light in my daylight scene.
Oops, I forgot, it is about 55 or 60 degrees located in relation with the ground.

    I'll appreciate your feedback.

      I'm already using skylight Goncalo.
The problem is that with this settings it doesn't look like the sun totally.
Some areas become very bright, when I increase the multiply value for the sun, (the brightness is so poweful that textures are not visible) but when I decrease it to 1.0, looks a little artificial.
      It's like a balance problem.
I don't know if it's related to Indirect Illumination settings, or something else...

        Hi
try turning down the first bounce and then have inverse square for your sun.....that might work a littte better.

I tone down the enviroment color a bit and set the multiplier for the enviroment to .5 to get better contrast. The advanced version has a great feature called color mapping that really helps with this. SInce I ma using the Free version now I use color correction or the brightness / contrast render effect in Max.
          Cheers

best contrast you will get if your (sun)light multiplyer is 1 then the skylight shouldnt exceed 0.35, 0.25-0.3 is the best I think.
