  • One more time...reflection caustics...

    Well I am getting my head nutz trying to simple things...
    First one water is nest to a window in a room, and trying to get thos beatifull caustic shines that water have to do in the ceiling of th room...
    Second one how to make a DISCOBALL...reflectin the light of a spot light??
    Could anybody help me???

    about the caustics it would be a really hevy stuff I think, you better get a free program called caustic generator (seen on cgarchitect) and then blend a map wich is generated with it on the walls. Will be much faster.

    2.instead of spot use directional light you'll have much easier controll over caustics.

    I dont know if a new demo is aviable of download I'll see the settings.

      But generally speaking, there's nothing special about these two situations from the point of caustics, just set it up as usual and there you go
      Also don't forget to increase the caustics multiplier, otherwise the effect won't be visible probably...
      But I also think that a more flexible solution is to fake it really

        I tried this out, and yeah, this looks very good, I put the water mesh, caustics on, and the direct light. Nothing more.. You can set up a light for just this if you like(exclude everything except the water), or play with the multipliers. It should work.

          Yeah, I tried that the same way as losbellos did before I wrote my previous post and it worked perfect for me too
