Color Swatch

It seems every time i create a material useing the vray material the color swatch in the material editor is black? And i cant see the material update when i start to tweek it some? Im useing viz 4. can someone help

Option in your material panel and check in Render->Current

Well, I don't use Viz - I use Max - but the same thing happens. In Max, in order to see the material you have to first select VRay as your current renderer then open up the options for the swatches and change the renderer to current: VRay. Hope this helps.
