i think the glossy reflection bug could be avoided with a better quality testing.
i mean, thats SUCH an obvious bug, that should have been noticed with a simple test scene.
maybe you need a few betatester for V-Ray?
or all customers are satisfied with replacing versions every 3 days?
sorry v-ray is a great programm but a better quality testing before releasing new versions would be great.
but maybe you all have enough time to play around all day?
Well, I did test the glossy reflections, but in my tests the glossy object was a simple plane, in which case it worked We do have a number of files that we run through VRay before a release, but sometimes things slip through...
Concidering what some other comapnies are like I think Chaosgroup is doing a great job so far. Yea sure there were a couple little bugs in the last release but no software is perfect and I fully understand that in some releases obvious bugs can be overlooked, but the truth of the matter is how many companies do you know will release a patch within hours of the bug being found.
Keep up the great work guys

All I was trying to say is that stuff will slip through, as the ever increasing pressure from some people for the 1.1 release things will get overlooked and we have to remember that contrary to popular belief Vlado and Peter are actually human and can actually make mistakes. Im only posting this cause some people seem to forget this (nothing intended toward you Long John), but Im sure that their doing everything possible to release a stable engine but we all know "Shit Happens"

I couldn't find any to download and the one I'm usung (downloaded with version "j") is obsolete.....
please let us know when you have it up.
thanks,
Paul.
Yeah, that has been in the works for some time, but at its current state its over 14 MB with all the images and is still not complete. Maybe we'll post a version with highly compressed images to make it easier to download.
that would be really helpfull
since trying to learn vray for the first time and not having an updated help file that doesn't mirror the latest build can be confusion....I rather get even the quality/comressed version....

Best regards,

As long as it's an option, and not the only manually.
Would also like to spend the extra D/L time to get a version with readable screen grabs
BTW - I think it's a testiment to the ease of Vray (and this board), that so many of us have picked up the un-documented features (photon mapping) so easilly.
