    I have an architectural scene approx 6 mil faces, rendering on a dual 1.4 with 2.5G of ram, however it seems that when I try and render with all of the objects visible it keeps crashing, sometimes during the static raycaster calculation.I can render when hiding some of the objects, but i need to render in its entirity.

    I am pulling my hair out at the moment.

    Any advice how to optimize settings, setup virtual memory or test a scene for an bugs in the geometry?

    Hey there --

    You should glance at the thread just a few above yours which mentions face count limits in Vray.

    Although some on this forum contest that they've successfully rendered out scenes with 7 or 8 million polygons, I just had a situation similar to yours at the 3 million threshold. In my scene, I had about a milliong or so faces devoted to structure; everything else was speedtrees. My only solution was to eliminate vegetation and composite in a second pass...
