Skylight HDRI

Can someone tell me how I can load an HDRI file into the skylight slot in Vrays environment?

Sorry for the daft question but I can't get it to work

Like an ordenary 2d map place it to the material editor, then place it in the environent slot.

Do I need some sort of plugin to get max to recognise HDRI files as a file type?

vray have provided that for you.
go to enviroment choose VrayHdri.
drag that into your material library.
then choose your hdri.
then drag that onto your vray enviroment.
