I think there have been various posts on this, but I can't find a specific answer.

Is it possible, using Max 5 and the latest build of Vray, to add sparkly highlights to either spotlights or, for example, white glowing glass elements which form part of a lighting fixture?

I am after the nice little 5 or 6 pointed star affairs. Adding them to an image in post production is relatively easy, but I am rendering an animation and need the same effect.

I think Cebas Pro Optic Suite used to do it, but I don't have this plugin, and I'm not even sure if it would be compatable with Vray anyway.

    Thanks

just in follow up, assuming Max's built in effects capabilities can be made to work, has anyone had any experience with them in animation? Do they look any good or do they have a 'flicker' problem?

I think Max's Glow effect can do the trick.

No flickers that I've seen they seem to work just like in the scanliner.
