  • antialiasing settings

    Hi,

Has anyone ever used the antialiasing settings that deal with normals, z-value, and material id. I tried renderings with different settings for these and it didn't make any difference.

    The same.
The outputs seem to be exactly the same (as far as I can compare my few tests). I even don't know if its wired or not.

I wanted to bypass the edgy effect of the catmull-rom.

By the way, if you know a good "area" like antialiaser without any edge ehancement... (something sharper than the Blackman)

as far as antialiasing filters go, have you tried cook variable. I use this quite a bit. I think it is much better than area and you can change the sharpness values. I had tried catmull rom but got a lot of edge ringing.

        I like Mitch-netravelli (hope I didn't butchered the name )
it's a good trade off between soft edges and crispness.....in arch viz stuff that is....
