  • iradiance maps and animation

    Hi,

OK there have been quite a few posts on this subject but I want to get everyones opinion.

When rendering a GI illuminated animation using irradiance maps, what is the best procedure to use when rendering using a render farm?

Now I'm talking what is the best method for generating the irradiance maps settings, resolution, techniques (ie rendering it on one machine and then rendering the full animation on the farm using it as a source)

My animation will have lots of motion in it and I don't want any flickering.

    thanks,

    Vance Miller

If there's any motion or geometry changing, materials changing, lighting changing, you cannot use a saved map to render the animation afterwards. You must use single frame (or bucket mode).
