  • Anything new on higher poly possibilities???

Hi.....Been out of this scene for awhile. I was wondering if any new news has come up on the new High end poly count situation?
I have gotten no new updates or info sent to me for quite some time.I know of V-ray's problem with XP and high poly counts. But last I heard there was a new thing coming out that would enable almost endless poly counts.
Anything anyone can elaborate on this would be greatly appreaciated, thanks.

This will be in 1.1 when it is done.

Yes when it's done.Should I hold my breath for another year? :P
Is there at least a "New" ballpark estimate of when this will be?The past estimated arrival dates of this product have come and gone many times over.
It is vital for my project,I need higher poly freedom at all costs. It's just been near a year now that I have waited for this elusive product. It sure would be great to at least get some kind of estimate on it's arrival.Be it today or next year,at least some confirmation.

      Thanks.

You could try, but I suspect you'll run into problems after a minute or so...

Seriously though, as far as I know you won't have to wait much longer.

              C'mon guys!

What about a more definite answer from somebody?

It's so frustrating knowing what Vray is capable of but not being able to use it all the time!

              Someone must know......

              1 week? 2 weeks? a month? 6?

              Please....

As a long time Vray user, I just would like to note that the current version of Vray is WELL beyond what was promissed a long time ago. There are still a few missing items, but generally speaking, if you would consider a traditional software company, what people seem to expect out of 1.1, would be what a normal software company would give in version 5 or 6... take photoshop for example, and see what has really changed from version 5.5 to 8.

Fair enough & I do think that Vray is a great product, just not viable for me until the poly issue is sorted out.

I do think in general software developers should keep the new features to themselves though. At least until a point when they can give a semi-definite release date for said features.

I was a Photoshop 2.5 user when Adobe announced the next version (3.0) would have layers. This was a feature we needed desperately at the time and Adobe were kind enough to let us have a Beta version.

Any chance of a Beta now? [/b]
