  • cove lighting - suggestions on how to???

ok guys I need to do some cove lighting similar to this :

    http://www.residential-landscape-lig...ove%20Lighting

    (sorry for the long link)

now if I was in Brazil the way I'd do it is by applying an standard mat with an output mat in the diffuse chanel to the "hidden light object" and maybe a blur render effect to the object's G-buffer to make it glow -
but since I'm in vray, i was wondering if you could enlight me with better/more efficient ways - or simply different - to do this .

    thanks a buch in advance...

    paul.

the same way is the best I think. Hideing is not neccesary just a proper modeling.
Self illuminated mat. apply on just a thin line, gi will do he rest, i think it will look better than the original (smoother).

      thanks losbellos!!.....
the main reason i was asking is because I thought vray had some kinda system/lighting speific for object lights - such as FinalRender (see object Light)....
or that there was an esier way to set it up - not that that is difficult either.

      anyone else??

      paul.

you might want to put the output map in the self illumination slot. then change self illumination to color instead of a percentage. then you might want to put that material into a vray material wrapper and use the GI multiplier and the output map to ballance a good image
