  • Seperating mesh elements

When exporting by layer, things are grouped. For example aluminum layer. Now, If I decide to change some of the objects within that alum layer -

Is the only way to change materials based on selection by using subobject materials?

Is their a way to explode objects from the editable mesh and re-assign to a different material?

    TIA!

Im sorry I should have been a little clearer! Is their a way to do this and allow more control of which objects are grouped with each other. It seems the only control is the spinner next to explode....Which I dont have control over which objects get group with what.....

So, what does the spinner do exactly, is the number related to how many groups are created? Is it a %??????????

I guess the thing I can do is explode with a high spinner and just GROUP when I am finished? The problem is I have SOO SOO many objects and faces....

      Thanks Mike for your response.

The spinner is the angle threshold if you use a large angle of 180 It will only break out the objects that don't share faces, where as 1 would seperate all but coplanar faces.
