For some reason I dont think there is DR for max6 yet. I got all the files emailed to me in a zip file and there was no spawner.

Explains why I thought there was a problem with the Max6 advanced installer not installing the DR files.

I wish this had been mentioned before I wasted time moving over to Max6, and also the time spent downloading the installer a dozen times thinking that it was currupt in some way.

How about some explanations or comments Chaos!
This has cost me serious downtime and aggravation!

I just talked to Vlado and there is no DR spawner for max6 yet. I imagine it will be coming soon.

                  re

Run tests before you move your new tools to production. You don't put all your money into one stock do you?

agree!!! it seems dumb and not wise to got to production w/ something that just came out - and find out in the middle of production "opps, it doesn't support this or that feature yet!!"......

                    it's asking for trouble.....

But at the same time, i really think that it should have been mentioned that a significant part of vray is not currently included in the Max6 release of Vray.

As far as im aware they are meant to be putting in new features not taking them out. They certainly make sure to tell us when a new feature is put in, then they should make the customer aware when a feature is taken out (for whatever reason).

Anywayz, hopefully it will be fixed soon

                          It's only a re-compile so what's the problem?

Max 6 has been in development long enough for any potential problems to be sorted in time for it's release.
You can't tell me that something caught you guy's by suprise, and not a word about it anywhere!

Vlado, you even told me to contact you for the missing files when I mentioned about it nearly a week ago in the bug's forum!
Now I've got to get our stuff back into five to get rendering under way.

                          It ain't good enough!

Just a question but, why would you blindly put V-Ray and max6 into the production line with out checking either out first for changes and bugs?

Distributed rendering is not in the Max6 recompile since we wanted to do some more tests with it; it's not as simple as recompiling the files as is the case with the rest of VRay. We thought it would be better to give you a version of VRay for Max 6, even without DR, than make you wait even longer.

                              Best regards,
                              Vlado
