  • best AA settings for animation

I was always under the impression that fixed AA set at 3 or 4 would be best for animation. However, I see many posts saying that adaptive is best.

    Can someone put me straight.

it depends what you got I think - for solid color surfaces w/ out much detail or not very detailed textures I think adaptive AA works fine...but for detailed textures/ I think you wanna use fixed.....also I think when you use reflective metals and glossies in general you wanna stay fixed AA in animations.....

      Have a look here
      http://www.chaoticdimension.com/foru...pic.php?t=4444

Just went through a whole thing with AA and ended up sticking with Fixed
@4 but Vlado recommended tweaking the QMC settings to clean it up.
Not fun thus far but appears to be addressing the issue.
      Hope it helps.

If you have little grainy textures like grass you should use min 1 max 2 or
min 2 max 3. If your textures are smooth you can use min 0 max 2 and the result is OK. Everything depend on the complexity of your textures
