  • yet another question on animation...

I'm pushing VRay with animation these days and learning the best ways to do things - or trying to!

I use the tried and tested method of Incremental Add to Current which seems to work fine.

However[/i], I always check the Autosave feature, which I assumed would save (append) the IRmap data to file once each frame is complete. My last few tests have proved me wrong - I'm on Max 6 with VRay Adv 'm'.

I do seem to get a few crashes and VRay errors (probably down to the old file I am working on), but this Autosave feature should protect me against losing the IRmap data gathered to date...shouldn't it?

    Am I doing something wrong?

so it doesn't append the newly calculated data to the map after every frame then?

Pretty sure it doesn't write till it is done with the sequence

Thats a pity. Any chance you could comment on this Vlado? I think it would be far better if the solution was 'topped up' after every rendered frame. Is this possible?

last i checked it does the save when you stop the calculation wither by letting it finish or by hitting cancel
