    Hello,

it seems that when i have vraylights on (sphere, affect specular on), i have no specular at all in the vrayspecular render element when the lights are set to invisible.
    is that normal ?

    thanks

    /muoto

edit: hmm...nevermind, it works on a basic sphere scene, but it seems i need to push the intensity of the vraylights very high (way above 1.0) to get something. Is this normal ?

    but still...
i have kind of normal specular with normal 3ds lights...

even when i boost the multiplyer to 100 in the renderelement, i got no specular...

    arf...

edit: Vlado, is there a difference in the vrayspecular channel when using vraylights and when using omni's ?

so...no one seems to have an idea...
          test yourself...
basic scene, 1 plane, 1 cube, 1 sphere and 3 vraylights sphere
glossy reflection on material, and still no vrayspecular !?!

but maybe again, this could be normal ?

with omni's i got specular, so why not with vraylights ?

you have the "store with irradiance map" option checked on the vraylights and the loss of specular highlights is one of the side effects of that.

              arffff...that's a pitty...
i use the store with imap most of the time for speed. can't afford to uncheck this.

well just duplicate that light, turn off "store with irradiance" and affect diffuse, so its just a specular light

Yeah could do that, but why not just have the specular enabled on the light when using "store with imap", espacially if you leave the specular toggle visible and usable...
will put this in the wishlist
