  • Making changes after animation prepass

What settings can you change, after you have done an animation prepass?

For example can you change subdivision settings, object colour, reflection amount etc? Or once the prepass has been made you cannot change anything without it causing artefacts.

Does anyone have an answer to the above?

    Thanks,

Colour might give you bleed effors - if you're only tweaking it a little/it's in open space it may be alright though, reflection amount/subdivisions should be alright. Open the irmap up and look at whats stored - it's pretty much just a 3d map which gets draped over your model and smoothed out. you should be able to make a pretty solid assumption about what you can/cant change by looking at it.

But aren't the hsph subdivisions of the irradiance map controlled by the DMC sampler? If the DMC sampler is adjusted after the prepass, does the IR map change or get messed up in any way? Or is it not affected because it has been stored as a prepass?

Not in my experience, and I change settings on saved IR maps all the time. My ir map is usually done with reflections turned off and aa at 1,1.
