vray 2.0 back compatible?

I'm currently doing some work at a company that is not using vray. The files being sent by the architects are produced with what seems to be 1.5, and here they've downloaded a demo version of 2.0, otherwise the entire scene opens with a bunch of unreadable black materials. I suggested that i bring in my own dongle, but i'm not sure how it would work if i start setting up the scene in the demo version of 2.0.

There might be errors if you try to open a scene created with V-Ray 2.0 in Maya with V-Ray 1.5 installed. For the most part it should work though.
