    Why does Vray subdivisions start at 8? And from experience people always do multiples of 8 when increasing subdivisions, why?

            It seemed like a good starting value at the time; good enough to show you what the effect looks like without taking too much render time.

              Ah cool. Thanks for the explanation. I was wondering if there was some calculation behind it. I swear some one once told me computer calculations are quicker if the number is even.
