  • Distributed Rendering - Turn Off Local Host Machine?

Is there a way to turn off / remove the local host machine from Distributed Rendering and just let the farm render while I continue to work on the scene?

    Thanks,
    Jason

    yes
    do a search
(in a nutshell send job to backburner to 1 different server but with DR ticked. Then that server will render and make sure the rest also use DR while you happily carry on working on your local pc)
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

That's essentially it. It's very handy to run it this way, because you can add/remove nodes at any time so if your workstation becomes free you can just fire up the vrayspawner and it will join the render, and you can drop out later if needed. I do it all the time.

One thing I had to do to get it working properly was to make sure the workstation IP is added to the render node list *on my workstation* before you fire it off to backburner. I just added it permanently and it gets ignored most of the time, but it means I can always add/remove my machine from ongoing renders without having to worry about remembering to ensure it will be 'available' to the backburner server.
