  • How does Vray DR works internally?

Is it true that when you render in DR, some parts of the render are not shared between the computers and each computer needs to calculate it for itself? Are the only parts that are actually shared between computers Irradiance map and the final render? And all the other parts like preparing vertices, updating objects, static raycast accelerator and even lightcache each computer has to calculate for himself?

    Just curious. Thanks!

Good question indeed ... I'd be curious to get some details as well ! because we have an heterogeneous farm here, with machines really slower than others ... so it would be great if the fastest machine could handle scene preparation and LC computation for example, even IrrMap, and then other machines only get involved in DR rendering for the "final" pass !

Vlado? Could you maybe shed some light into this?
