  • Liquid geometry intersect glass?

It was a couple of years ago I did some kind of liquid inside a bottle or a glass using vray, but back then I remember that the best thing was to let the liquid geometry intersect the glass a bit. How is it with vray 2.1? Is the best option to let it intersect, to have the two geometrys right next to eachother or to shrink the liquid a bit and create a space between the two geometrys?

Things haven't changed, you need them to intersect.

Really!? I wouldn't have expected that. I did some stuff for an air freshener company a while back that had a liquid in a glass bottle inside a plastic covering for the packaging. Nightmare! Never worked out the way I would have expected, and I went out of my way to make sure they didn't intersect. (D'oh!)

I can understand having them right on top of eachother wouldn't be good, but I don't get why you'd want them to intersect. Does this not break the IOR?

So to be sure I understand this: If I had a glass of wine... the wine should be slightly inside the glass? Honestly I never would have thought that would be the case and I don't quite understand why that works. I can roll with it but some sort of explanation there would be greatly appreciated.
