  • 50min timeout backburner2

Anyone know how to change the default "Wait to Render" timeout setting from 50 mins to say 3days. I consistently forget to change this parameter.

After talking to Discreet a few times, they said this cannot be set in backburner 2, supposedly this is fixed in 2.2 or whatever version shipped with Max 6, but we are not using it yet, so I'm not sure, but I would guess it is somewhere in the server xml file.

Obviously not in the shipping version that reached us. mmm I found the xml file and the setting in the backburner directory, I'm giving that a go now.

In max 6 (says it is using backburner 2 , don't know if it actually is 2.2)

When you are Submiting the render Job,
        In "Network Job Assigment" dialog.
        Lower Left "Advanced" button
        Open "Advanced Settings"
There you enable and Edit "Per Job Timeouts"

        Set it to infinite
You can't! only 70000 minutes allowed! (some 48 days) so if you render takes longer you are doomed! :P

It is much better this way than setting it in the manager and all servers, you can adjust it per job!

Have to say that I had a headache till I found that one, a render being killed almos when finished brrr!

Somehow while destroying .xml files I managed to get the per job setting to become sticky, they remain set at 70000 on restart now with per job checked by default. I wish I new what I did... if it ain't broke.

Strange, i can´t change the render timeout over 60 Minutes.
if i change it to 500 Minutes, it will cancel rendering after 60 Minutes by timeout .
