  • Best way for cove lighting ?

    Hi,
I always wonder how to do cove lighting... VRayLightMtl ? VRayLightMtl with Direct Illumination ? VRaylight ?
Sometime, I really need it because it's the first light source of the scene, sometime not...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks in advance.
    (Sorry for my bad english)

In the past I just use the vraylightmtl.

same here, designers here like to also make curved bulkheads and it takes too long to copy "short" vraylights of different lenghts along the curve and make it fit. So i also just stick to VRayLightMtl. Subdivs on 64
      Kind Regards,

On top of whats already posted, sometimes I use standard omni lights, and up to thousands of them with attenuation on and no shadows. I keep the real lights for the scene just underneath it all. It's much faster once it's setup.

once you get one that works it's all about using forest/multiscatter on a spline around the areas you want them.
