  • Fine Detail

I have a room witch has some reveals in the wall, and they will not render unless i set the ir map setting to real high. And once i do that rendering times go out the roof! So my question is, what setting controls how well the ir map picks up fine detail? Is it the min. max. setting of the ir map.
is it clr thresh, nm thres? or all? My question i guess is this . How can i pick up small detail in the ir map and not have longer render times. is thier any tricks or work arounds. PLEASE HELP. Thanks

Irradiance map will detect quite easier if you use a map as displacement, since it would produce geometry, but probably you only need it in the bump map slot, you can try to use a finer AA treshold like 0.05, I think would be enough...
