    hello,

i don't know if it's a bug, but i have a problem of smoth with the plugin easynat (www.bionatics.com) for the plants and trees.

    Take a look:
    max render :

    vray render :

    Any idea ?

    Thanks and good week end

Have you tried the "smooth surface shadows" option in vray shadows?

      Yes RErender, of course

but in the two pics, there are only tree, without light

then if you are using gi in vray it is the default lights that are bad, I think

No RErender, it's a another problem

with max the grometry is faceted, but when it's rend the geometry, max smoth then (phone with bionatics) and with vray, the automatic smoth don't make, but i don't know wy

          thanks for your help

Ok, just weird because I have seen Bionatic trees render right...

Same problem here vince. Even with LOD set max it still looks bad when rendered up close.

I think thats a tree problem, I ve try to convert it into mesh, and they have no smoothing value, then change the smooth value to 30 or 45 and it worked well...

They are very low resolution models to closer views

I have the exact same problem with speedTree trees! Does anybody know if treeStorm has this problem too? Also does anybody know how to convert speedTree trees into a mesh. I am hoping to convert it to a mesh and covert the trunk and branches of the sppedTree with the mesh as a work around to the problem.

I hope to have a solution for that soon; the problem is probably that the meshes that are generated contain additional normals information, which vray ignores at the moment.

                    Best regards,
