  • DR: connect timeout

my distibuted rendering does not work as it should:
i got three machines and also added the client to the server list.
    (do i have to?)

    when starting rendering
1.) the client`s status turns "connect timeout",
    2.) second machine renders,
3.) the third machine`s status is "sending scene" but not rendering

    what is wrong?

Have you done all the usual things like make sure you have the same plugins on each machine etc?

sounds like networking issues, not vray issues.

Hello. Try to load the scene in each machine to see if any error appears. It could be a only map or plugin question (I say this by personal experience)

              Regards

                  Hi

Are you doing distributed rendering(ie single image over many machines?) or network rendering(ie animation over maxs netrender dialog?) if netrender you might want to increase your timeouts to something higher than 50 eg:35000.

i am trying to do DR.

and there is still this simple question i posted two month ago that can be answered with Y/N but i didn`t get an answer until now; please, someone tell me:

is the client supposed to be added to the server list?

what about the second machine that is "sending scene" but not rendering?

i really had some problems with dr too.

but then i tried eyerything step ba step with the sponza scene provided by vlado and it worked fine.

does network rendering work for you?

                      use the installer.

check if EVERY Plugin on your server is installed on the slaves.

then create a simple scene without any maps.

                      no gi, nothing special.

if gi, set it to bucked mode.

start the vray spanwer as a program, not as a service. check if the vray logo appears in your task bar.

if one machine renders look what this machine has that the others don´t have..

the machine you are actually working on does not need to run the spawner. if this case, of course, it does not render anything.

start with very -easy to understand- settings.

and don´t hesitate to ask futher questions or write me an email!!!

                      regards
