  • increasing render times... (vray free 10903m)

I'm using the freeware version of vray (latest one) to render an animation. nothing actually changes during the animation (some objects are moving slowly, but their number of polygons stays the same, also the light situation doesn't change), nevertheless the render-times get longer and longer with each frame. at frame 1000 it took about 3 minutes per frame to render, now, at frame 2000 I'm already at 6 minutes 30 sec.
WHY? restarting of max doesn't help, a reboot of my computer doesn't help either.
I'm using irradiance map, medium animation settings. is there a way to reset the irradiance map in the free version???
what can I do? I don't want to end up with render-times around 10 - 12 minutes per frame when I reach frame 4000 !

    THANKS !

What happens if you render frame 2000 directly?

    Best regards,

directly? I guess you mean frame 2000 single frame render(?) -> same long render time. I just tried some of the first frames (frame 0) - at this point the camera is still quite far away from the objects in my animation: 1min 11sec per frame.
now I also tried frame 2300 (I'll get there by the end of the day) - it's about to accelerate again: 5min 38sec per frame.
I guess it's some piece of material that gets more or less visible during the animation and that slows down the rendering process, don't know...
(might me the face of the character in my scene - I guess it's a bit more complex than the rest of the head/body)
anyway, does the free version of vray also store the irradiance map for my scene? where? is it possible to reset it?

      thanks for your reply vlado!

So you are saying you are moving the camera closer to the objects, making them bigger in the frame? I wonder why it's taking longer...

well, actually the camera stays in the same distance to the objects from frame 1000 to 2000 (moved closer from 0 to 1000), also the objects have about the same size in the frame during this time of the animation, nevertheless the rendertime went from 3 to 6 minutes per frame...
just checked the rendertime for frame 0 to see if it also went up in the meantime. I'm glad it didn't
